Overview:
Coleus extract is obtained from the roots of Coleus forskohlii. Traditionally coleus root powder is used in the Indian spices and medicinal herbs with a long history of usage in Ayurvedic medicine.
Coleus forskohlii belongs to the Natural Order Labiatae (Lamiaceae), a family of mints and that grows wild in the warm sub-tropical temperate areas in India, Burma and Thailand.
The dark brown pigment in coleus forskohlii consists of mainly Forskohlii.

In India, it is found wild in tropical moist forests of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka and very commonly cultivated in moist tropical regions and southern states.
