Overview:
Boswellia Serrata is obtained from the gummy resin of the Boswellia tree. Boswellia serrata is Indian frankincense or Salai.
It is found in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh in India. Its aroma is generally considered to be far inferior compared to Boswellia sacra or Boswellia frereana.
However, this herb has held a place of honor in India’s traditional Ayurvedic medicine because they were always regarded for their potential health benefits.
The yellow pigment in Boswellia Serrata extract consists of mainly AKBA. Boswellia serrata contains various derivatives of boswellic acid including β-boswellic acid, acetyl-β-boswellic acid, 11-keto-β-boswellic acid and acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellic acid.

It can be grown in red, lateritic to rocky soil.
