GARCINIA EXTRACT
GARCINIA EXTRACT
Overview:
The rinds of the fruits of Garcinia cambogia are extracted to obtain an enhanced Hydroxy Citric Acid (HCA) content. Garcinia is traditionally used in various cuisines in South India.
HCA is an inhibitor of ATP citrate lyase, an enzyme that facilitates the production of fatty acid during the Kreb’s Cycle. Thus Garcinia extract helps in the inhibition of lipogenesis, and hence promotes weight loss.
Since fatty acid synthesis is inhibited, the glucose obtained from the breakdown of carbohydrates is not converted (into fats) and this results in increased hepatic glycogen synthesis. This in turn signals for a reduced energy requirement and a sense of satiety.

The fruit of the Garcinia Cambogia looks like a multilobed pumpkin and is usually green, yellow, or red.
